A Configuration Engineer, especially for a platform like Pricefx, ensures that the software is tailored to the specific needs of the business. Responsibilities:

• Software Configuration: Customize and configure the Pricefx platform based on the requirements of the client or project. This could involve setting up pricing models, and workflows, or integrating with other tools. 

• Requirement Gathering: Work with clients or internal teams to gather requirements. Understand the client's business processes and pricing strategies to configure the software accordingly. 

• Testing: After configuration, test the solution to ensure it meets the requirements and is free of errors. This might involve unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing. 

• Documentation: Create documentation for the configurations made, ensuring that any team member can understand and potentially make changes in the future. 

• Training: Assist in training users or internal teams on how to use the configured solution. This might involve creating training materials or conducting training sessions. 

• Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest features and functionalities of Pricefx and ensure that you're leveraging the platform to its fullest potential. 

• Collaboration: Work closely with other teams like sales, product management, and technical support to ensure smooth delivery and implementation of the Pricefx solution. 

Requirements and Skills:

• Technical Acumen: Familiarity with Groovy (or similar languages such as Java) for scripting and automation, basic SQL for database querying and data manipulation, and experience with Git version control for managing code changes and collaborating in a team environment.

• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues and find solutions in a timely manner. 

• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients and internal teams. 

• Attention to Detail: Accuracy is crucial in configuration, as small mistakes can lead to big issues in software performance. 

• Learning Agility: Willingness and ability to quickly learn new features and functionalities of the Pricefx platform. 

• Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with team members from different backgrounds and departments.
